Ray Tadio

Associate Professor Ray Tadio (he/him/his) has been a faculty member at San Francisco State University since 2008. He teaches modern, modern jazz, Philippine folk dance, composition/choreography. He directs and choreographs for University Dance Theatre as well as for Theatre Arts musical productions. Ray completed his B.A. in Studio Art at San Jose State University and his M.F.A. in Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He specializes in the Lester Horton modern dance technique, jazz dance, and Philippine folk dance.

Dance Artist
Ray Tadio trained at the Alvin Ailey School in New York. He danced with the Ailey II Company and the Joyce Trisler Dance company, Kevin Wynn Collection,David Rousseve, and numerous companies in NYC and abroad. He resided in the Netherlands for four years, teaching and choreographing at the theater schools in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Specializing in the Lester Horton modern dance technique, jazz, and Philippine folk dance, he was awarded the Le Huit d’Or in France in 1995 for excellence in jazz and contemporary dance. Mr. Tadio holds an M.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
